Water Has Memory @Le Jardin Secret

Harvest Festival Marrakech in collaboration with Le Jardin Secret presents Water Has Memory, an exhibition by Meryem Meg. Open 9.30am to 7.30pm daily. Ticketed with reduced cost for Moroccan residents.

Water Has Memory explores the healing properties of water inspired by Islamic wisdom and teachings. The exhibition includes a series of paintings accompanied by an immersive scent produced by Dana El Masri, ceramics, a film and written contributions. On the occasion of Harvest Marrakech Spring 2023, Meryem Meg will also be leading workshops exploring the role that faith and ecology play in her work as well as her organic painting techniques with the collectives of Dar Bellarj. Connected to the thematic of water we will also be hosting a guided water walk beginning in the Palmeraie and ending up at The Museum of Water Civilisation, Marrakech on the 28 May to further explore Marrakech’s historical connections to water.

Bio: Meryem Meg through her practice seeks to document and explore spirituality, ritual practices and their connection to the natural world. She often balances symbolism and cycles within nature. Dhirk (the Islamic concept of remembrance) is a central theme within her practice which threads itself across a range of mediums including painting, moving image, clay work and bookmaking.
