We are very happy to collaborate once again with Um Mami Melting Pot Morocco and their current cohort. This evening will bring together our local partners, The Moroccan Biodiversity and Livelihoods Association and GDF team Ugo D’Ambrosio (Scientific and Technical Advisor), Hakima Drissi (Livestock Consultant), and Abderrazak Bassir (Seed Entrepreneurship Consultant) for a conversation around the ways the recent earthquake has affected food security and sources, as well as the ways in which both our teams are working on ways to re-establish these in our relief efforts. The conversation will be moderated by Tasnim Elboute (High Atlas Cultural Landscapes Programme Director). To complement the evening.
Um Mami’s current cohort will be preparing a special array of snacks working with High Atlas products. The discussion will include an opportunity for interaction and sharing around the contexts of food sovereignty and the earthquake.
GEN in Conversation is GDF’s programme of talks and interactive workshops that brings together activists, academics, practitioners, artists and community leaders to share their insights and lived experiences. We offer these events to our GEN members (for free) and the general public (for a voluntary donation).
The Moroccan Biodiversity and Livelihoods Association supports High Atlas communities in the implementation of efforts that aim to a) restore ecological balance, b)document and promote traditional conservation practices and c)support sustainable agricultural-based rural economies.
