Craft Fair

Marrakech is universally known for its artisanal and traditional art practices, gathering tourists and nationals alike to hunt for wares in the markets of our region. This passion of crafts and craftsmanship calls for a dedicated moment to experience artisanal work in Dar Bellarj’s expansive riad located in the heart of the Medina.

Join us for a day of celebration and discovery, supporting the multiplicity of makers and their practices, who enrich regional cultural patrimony through their essential work. You’ll find familiar crafts and unusual finds, as well as experimental takes on traditional processes, such as the use of natural-dyes or repurposed materials. Tradition meets the creative imaginary of a new generation of enthusiast as we reinvite what it means to be part of an ethical and sustainable local economy. Invited scholars will help reflect on modern realities and historical paradigms by way of informal encounters and conversations in the verdant rooftop garden initiated by QANAT, Les Ateliers Collectifs and the women of Dar Bellarj, the backbone of this urban oasis who will bring it alive with their art and music.
