A Gathering with Other Cinemas, Film w Glissa and Laila Hida on Building and Nourishing a Practice of Community

This evening brings our cultural practitioners in residence Arwa Aburawa and Turab Shah (Other Cinemas) into dialogue with local practitioners Film W Glissa and Laila Hida.
The evening is imagined as an intimate gathering where each participant will share a bit about the why and how of their practices of building and working towards a visual culture that aims to embody the decolonial, work with and be informed by communities and living territories as well as to think in dialogue with one another about strategies for resilient and responsive practices whilst troubling the dominant modes of producing and sharing work.
Each participant will speak about their work, share some examples as well as readings or other relevant materials that have inspired or inspire how they are working.
The evening is intended to create sharings between diasporic practices and those in working here in Morocco to think about lines of solidarity and exchange.
The audience is encouraged to bring along readings or materials they might also want to share and to contribute to the conversation.
