The Agency of Nature in Film,  École Supérieure des Arts Visuels

Organised in collaboration with Saeed Meetings Radical Forms: The Agency of Nature in Film will bring together two guest filmmakers from Tunisia and Morocco to discuss and showcase their practice in the form of a discursive workshop facilitated by Saeed Meetings founder, director and film programmer Rim Mejdi.

This event encourages us to challenge the way we capture our environment, asking us how, in our anthropocentric age, we can find forms of documentation that give agency back to nature. What methodologies and histories of working with visual culture can we learn from, how can these methodologies make us better listeners to our environments and the communities who steward them, and, how might these ways of working contribute to a transformed way of being in the world.

We will explore how cinema can empower nature and amplify the voices of our environments and communities.
